The third beast is Michael. His name is the 1998th in the Bible (3 x 666 = 1998, the third beast). This is in agreement with the third of the four beasts in Daniel chapter 7. Daniel saw a leopard with four wings and four heads and a look of authority about it. The word 'leopard' sounds like 'leper' and the spots on the cat represent the skin disease leprosy. Lepers were one of many groups of outcasts who Jesus came to teach about. The four heads represent four lives, namely those of mine, my previous life and Simon Peter's two lives. The four wings are those of two angels. The name Michael refers to the Archangel in Daniel chapter 10 and Revelation chapter 12 who fights against Satan; this represents the fight against the teachings of Paul.

4. Asuppim (1Chr26:15) means storehouse; it is not a name.

5. A sixth son of Jethudun (Shimei) is listed in some texts in 1Chr25:3. He is probably the same person as Shimei (1Chr25:17) who is listed.

6. Shimei (1Chr23:10) is described as having different sons to Shimei (1Chr23:9), who is first mentioned in Exo6:17. Therefore, two men called Shimei are listed.

7. Shimei (1Chr6:42) is a grandson of Gershom, whereas the man referred to in Exo6:17 is his son. They are listed separately. However, it is possible that this Shimei could be the same as the one mentioned above.

8. Sources suggest that Huppim (Ge46:21 and 1Chr7:12) both refer to the son of Benjamin, even though the second is stated to be the son of Ir. His name is only listed once, although arguably it could be listed twice.

9. Isshiah (1Chr24:21) is thought by some sources to be the same as Ishiah (1Chr7:3). However, the first appears to be a Levite, whereas the second is of the tribe of Issachar. Therefore they are listed separately.

10. Jahaziel (1Chr16:6) is not thought to be the same as Jaaziel (1Chr15:18).

11. Amram (1Chr24:20) is the father of Moses. His descendant Shubael (Shebuel) is the son of Gershom, son of Moses (1Chr23:16). Amram is not listed twice.

12. Elihu (1Chr27:18) could be the same as Eliab (1Sm16:6) because it says that he is "one of the brethren of David". This name is not included in the list.

13. It is thought that Zelophehad (1Chr7:15), the second son of Machir is the same person as Zelophehad son of Hepher, great grandson of Machir (Num26:33). In both instances, Zelophehad is described as having only daughters.

14. Two Kohathites called Uriel are thought to be the same (1Chr6:24 and 1Chr15:5). Similarly, two Merarites called Asaiah are thought to be the same (1Chr6:30 and 1Chr15:6).

15. A singer called Asaph is referred to in 1Chr6:39 and 1Chr9:15, and is only listed once. This singer is also referred to elsewhere.

16. The Ark of the Covenant was placed in the care of Obededom (2Sm6:10). Sources disagree on whether the temple porter and musician called Obededom (1Chr15:18) refers to a different man. It is possible that he or a group named themselves after the house of Obededom. This name is not listed separately.

17. Nathan (1Chr11:38), the brother of a mighty man may be the same as Nathan (2Sm23:36), the father of a mighty man. However, they are listed separately.

18. 1Chr8:6-7 lists three men, Naaman, Ahiah and Gera, who may be descendants of Ehud rather than Bela (sources: Nave's Topical Index, Holman's Bible Dictionary (Gera) and the RV Bible; compare with the KJV Bible). All three are listed separately even though Bela has similarly named sons, two of whom are first mentioned as descendants of Benjamin in Ge46:21. Ehud in 1Chr8:6 is different from the other men in the Bible called Ehud, and is possibly the same as Ehi (Ge46:21) and Ahiram (Num26:38).

19. It is possible that Malchijah in 1Chr9:12 and 1Chr24:9 is the same man (Holman's). However, they are listed separately in accordance with Nave's and Easton's Bible dictionaries.

20. Some sources give one Mattithiah in 1Chr15, 1Chr16 and 1Chr25, and some give two. It is possible that the musician in 1Chr25 is separate from the one in 1Chr15, and it is possible that the porter in 1Chr15:18 is separate from the musician in 1Chr15:21. To resolve this, one is listed for 1Chr15:18, and one is listed for 1Chr25:3.

21. It is possible that Jehoiada (1Chr12:27) leader of the Aaronites could be the same as the father of Benaiah (2Sm8:18), but they are listed separately.

22. There are several references to people called Elkanah in 1Chr6. This is how they are listed:
    • Exo6:24 refers to Elkanah son of Korah.
      
    • 1Chr6:23 refers to Elkanah son of Assir.
      
    • In 1Chr6:25, there is a different Elkanah who is repeated in 1Chr6:36 with Amasai his son.
      
    • Elkanah (1Chr6:26) is the same as Elkanah (1Chr6:35) and is a descendant of Elkanah (1Chr6:25) and an ancestor of Elkanah (1Sm1:1).

23. It is thought that the following names refer to the same people in these verses:
